Redrafting Lift Assist Bill 

Last month, Oregon’s House and Human Services Committee held a hearing on HB 2600, a bill that requires certain lodging facilities to make a lift assist device available to aid people with disabilities as it relates to mobility in and out of bed and other guest room facilities. When it became apparent the bill had the backing of leadership in the House and would likely pass, OLA worked with legislators to develop amendments to the proposed legislation with the intent of helping those with mobility needs while making the proposed new law less onerous to our industry.
